A survey research was conducted on this platform to collect participants’ opinions about what they think of an IQ test as an accurate measure of intelligence. Below are the results:

IQ poll
IQ survey research

Research question
Would IQ test accurately measure intelligence?

Hypotheses
1. IQ tests would accurately measure intelligence

2. IQ test might probably measure intelligence accurately

Research method
This brief research utilized a survey method of research where a poll was designed with a 7-point open-ended response pattern. Unlike the previous month, only nine participants took part in the survey this month, leaving us with spurious data from which we could draw inferences from. With less regard to sample size, let’s have a look at the report.

Research report
The research was a survey research used to determine the extent to which people rely on an IQ test as a reliable measure of intelligence. The results were shown in percentile scores below:

– 0% of the participants agreed that IQ tests could measure intelligence very accurately

– 22% of the participants agreed that IQ tests could measure intelligence accurately

– 55% of the participants agreed that IQ tests could measure intelligence somewhat accurately

– 44% of the participants agreed that IQ tests could measure intelligence not surely

– 0% of the participants agreed that IQ tests could measure intelligence less accurately

– 0% of the participants agreed that IQ tests could measure intelligence inaccurately

– 11% of the participants agreed that IQ tests could measure intelligence very inaccurately

What this data suggests
While the results suggest that people’s aren’t sure about IQ tests’ accuracy, they still, this would not make them necessarily want to discard its use, there are situational factors that often warrant the use IQ tests: from mental evaluation, recruitment, to social belongingness etc.

However, IQ critics outrightly disregard the use of an IQ test and always want to rely on and credit other measures of cognitive ability than they would rely on IQ test. For example, creativity tests and Emotional Intelligence Quotient.

Ask an IQ test critic why he thinks an IQ test is nothing more than bull shit, he would tell you that IQ tests aren’t all accurate because they are often flawed with cultural bias among many other forms of test biases.
