Study Well for Exams Without Forgetting

While the goal of every student is to succeed in their academic journey, there also lies a lot of challenges on the way to academic success. In this article, you would learn proven techniques on how to solve one of the biggest problems in learning: how to study well for exams without forgetting.

1. Study smarter, not necessarily harder

The number one point here is, start studying smarter from day one that the class begins. This makes it easier than pushing yourself in the last minutes (to failure), which might result in low scores and grades.

You can study less and ace exams big time by doing it right from day one. This is what differentiates a smart student from a workaholic student. Workaholic students study to just pass and not fully understand nor apply the course material.

So while you study, concentrate on using smart techniques like acronyms that can be pronounced. For example, if you have ‘six classes of food: carbohydrate, protein, fat & oil, water, mineral salt, and vitamin’ to memorize, simply making an acronym as Carpfowminevita would be a smart memory trigger in the exam.

Instead of running the rat race, you simply use memory tricks and shortcuts to ace tests and exams, while other students are striving hard at memorizing the whole details. By the time you examine your memory trick formula [of which, acronyms is one of many of them], you would realize how supersmart student you really are.

Yes, it works. But don’t forget that it also pays to study smart and hard so don’t compromise one for the other. Studying hard the smart way guarantees even more success.

2.  Read the mind of your tutor

What? Yes, but not literally as it sounds. What this means exactly is that you have to know what is likely to be the correct answer to exam questions, in your tutor or lecturers perspective. It is critical that you be aware of which sort of questions may additionally come in the exam and how you can prepare to score well.

A-students know their examination well. They understand which questions have a high chance to appear in the question paper and how to prepare for it. Even if other questions come in the exam, they know how to address it properly.

3. Study what matters first

If you have limited time to study, don’t study in a rush. Otherwise, you would be wasting your precious time on memorizing faster only to realize you have forgotten in the next couple of minutes.

4. Ditch fear and tension

Read the assignment, out loud if you really want to hear it and see it in the exam. Take notes. Read it again, this time in greater depth. Answer questions at cease of chapter or unit.

Reread. Study notes. Pay interest to Main headings and minor headings. Go over any phrases that are new to you. Learn what they suggest and how to use them. They might also be on the test. Summarize if it helps you remember. Turn in all your assignments, all your homework, pay attention in class, take notes and surely exhibit up for class.

8. Condense and Convert

Now that you have a grasp of what works and what doesn’t, miniaturize the entire course materials into a concise summary. Yes, condense it sp that say 159 pages becomes 10 pages in your ‘read or practice’ book.

Covert important details right from the headlines and major points to a visual form like cards to have them in handy. The goal is to remember the entire details faster at a single memory trigger or a single mental picture.

9. Rinse and Repeat the 1st to 8th points

By the time you have completed every point listed here, you would already have much to gain. And don’t forget to your success delude you, keep up with the whole process every time and always win. Now, go prepare and ace that exam because you’re going to have an A.
